I have an upcoming event (I’ll divulge the details soon) which requires me to make lots of baby and kid quilts. You probably know by now how I feel about baby quilts. So. Much. Fun.
And I decided it was time to revisit one of my favorite designs, the bouncing balls quilt. I finished up the binding on this little guy on the way to the beach yesterday, and when we arrived, I realized that it’s bouncy ball design was right at home.
Look at how perfectly it matches our beach towel– it was meant to be.
I may be among the first person to bring a quilt to the beach, let alone photograph it in various beachy poses. And yes, I got more than a few odd looks– but this seagull couldn’t care less.
There’s something about taking your quilts out into the wide world– spreading the pleasure of patchwork as much as possible.
On another entirely unrelated note… brace yourself. I have a new sewing room buddy.
His name is Berny Mud. Inspired by my Bernina and, well, the fact that he was covered in mud when we first met. He is sitting on my lap as I type now, and by lap I mean 3 inches of my upper thigh. There are no words…
