Just as wonderful as a crazy, eye-opening, and (excessively) indulgent vacation is returning home. I’m quite fond of my day-to-day Boston life and it’s coming up on my favorite time of year. Of course, I did take a little bit of my sewing self to Beirut, in the form of this zippered messenger back I stitched up a few days before leaving.
Love those shot cottons– and it fits a surprising amount of goods, including the knitting and sewing projects that I absolutely require on long airplane rides.
Whenever I get back from a trip, I have to sort of ease back into my regular routine. I always feel the need to organize, prioritize, and get myself grounded before I’m back in full-on sewing mode. After this particular trip, I came home to very exciting news and have been tying up loose ends in anticipation of an upcoming project (details to come soon!). One of these loose ends was a giant shot cotton pillow that I’ve been meaning to finish up for some time.

I’m sure this design is familiar– I just love those slanty striped squares. This baby is for me, to match the shot cotton bed quilt I made a few months ago.
Anyway, I’m back in my groove now and can’t wait to let you in on the happenings of my busy upcoming months– but I’ll admit I do have a new, absolutely wonderful little distraction.
She’s my sewing room buddy… it’s going to be a fabulous fall.

Great projects and I love the shot cotton!
(Also, Stitch is adorable!)
