Or it least it feels that way.
It was bright, sunny, warm…
Believe it or not, that’s her happy face– and the little guy sleeping next to her is now full-grown and missing his companion. Fedora was stubborn, difficult, moody… and wonderful. She was truly one of a kind, and we feel her absence every day.
Two days later, my darling bunny Shuffle suffered complications and internal bleeding from being neutered. So I spent my weekend at the animal hospital, trying to distract myself by watching the Food Network through an endless stream of tears, praying he would be OK. We were finally able to bring him home last night, and he’s still in somewhat rough shape– my husband and I are probably certified veterarian assistants at this point since we have to give him 5 different medications 3 times a day (including fluids which need to be injected under his skin… not fun for anyone involved).
This is a pre-trauma picture since he is now wearing an e-collar that he absolutely loathes and I wouldn’t rob him of his bunny dignity by posting a picture of that. He’s looking good and eating well (never really a problem for Shuff), but I’m still saying little prayers all day long that he will be his fully healthy self again soon.
Phew. Thank goodness for sewing distractions.
