Yesterday I took my first load of quilts, pillows, table runners, pincushions, you name it to Local Collection, a beautiful store in Boston’s Faneuil Hall. As its names suggests, the shop contains the work of about 40 Boston area crafters, designers, and artists– I’m honored to be a part of it. I spent the morning stitching up individual fabric labels for each item.
I think they add a nice finishing touch…
It felt so good to get that first load done, but before I could breath a real sigh of relief, I found out I’d been accepted to the Independent Designers Market in Harvard Square. I almost took them up on the offer to sell this coming Saturday before deciding my sanity was at stake. But next week I’m on, which means I’m still in non-stop sewing mode. Mind you, I’m not complaining. I sort of lost track of time last night and didn’t eat dinner until 10:30 because I was in the zone– you know how that is.
I do have some non-quilting plans ahead, including Shuffle’s first vet appointment this afternoon! I’m a little nervous, not the least because we don’t actually know for sure whether she/he is a girl/boy (long story) so this is a pretty big day. Whatever gender, I couldn’t ask for a better quilt-basting buddy.
