Confession. This custom-ordered table runner is all the sewing I’ve accomplished in the past four days or so:
And I did almost all of it on plane rides (the machine quilting and binding happened when I returned home last night.) That’s because I’ve spend the past few days here:
One of my girlfriend’s families owns a beautiful condo in Palm Beach and we decided it would be the perfect location for a long ladies weekend. We slept in late, lounged by the beach, and pretty much spoiled ourselves for a few days. Exactly what I needed.
We even had a wine night.
Perhaps not quite as impressive as the beer wall, but considering there were only six of us, not a bad performance. (Yes, you counted right, that’s one b0ttle per person… plus one more for good measure.)
I’m one of those people with the ability to adopt a laser-like focus, especially when there’s lots to be done. It’s both a blessing and a curse, and since there has been a lot going on work-wise for the past few weeks, I’ve been a little bit locked away and non-stop sewing. It’s not that I don’t adore spending the day in my studio, but I forget how important it is to give myself a break. This weekend was precisely what the doctor ordered.
To top if all off, I returned home to a very healthy and happy Shuffle! The e-collar is off, the meds are over, and he has spent the morning running around the apartment like his usual self. Now, it’s nap time:
