I spent Thanksgiving weekend in Charleston with my husband’s mother and sister. Such fun. This has to be one of the most adorable little town-cities in the country. The time with family, the boutiques, the sunshine… don’t even get me started on the food.
And of course, as far as I’m concerned, travel = time to hand stitch. So I brought along a couple small pillow tops which I somehow managed to get through thanks to a couple long car and plane rides. It’s taken me another week to get around to quilting them, but I finally squeezed in a few hours in the sewing studio amidst the final stages of book writing.
You know I how I said I felt the vague onset of a series with the completion of my Magic Teapot Quilt? Well, the first pillow top is inspired by my true caffeinated beverage of choice:
And the second is my optimistic interpretation of the type of weather that is normally all gloom and gray.
I wonder how many more humdrum images I can infuse with color…
